The Paoli shock is the standard performance shock fitted to most late Zane Laverdas. It  works well but has a tendency to gain increasing amounts of compression damping, until eventually it feels like you are riding over cobles.

The White Power shock as fitted to earlier 650/668s, is a little better quality, but like all springs, goes soft after about 15-20,000 Km. The only fix for this is to have the shock rebuilt, or replaced.

The Penske Shock however is in a different league to the others. Designed to be easily rebuilt for racing purposes, it comes suited to a specific riders weight, and can be revalved like front forks to a specific riding style. The first revalve is included in the purchase fee.
