Vyrus Race News 2011
Alto Performance are proud to announce that the Hub centre steered Project will continue into the 2012 season with a new engine, and improved chassis and aerodynamics.
With 35 podiums, 11 wins, 2 lap records and 2nd in the UK Thunderbike championship we proved it to be stable, agile, light, and exceptionally kind to its front tyre, the hub center steered system has proven to be as fast or faster than anything forks have to offer.

Super bike Project 2012
We are now making our first superbike version using a Ducati 1098R engine.
This will be a no holds barred version, we are going to run nationally to begin with.

As always Alto Performance would like to thank all our sponsors. This year there are too many to name here, so please visit our sponsors page, because without them the Vyrus project may never have got off the ground at all.
See Vyrus - Racing for more.
The 2012 season will be available shortly. See Race Dates for more.

Show News
Giacomo Agostini 15 times world champion rides Alto performance bikes.
The Thundersprint proved a great success for all, as a reorganization with BSB meant that instead of taking just one bike we were free to put on a real show and ended up taking 5.
Pete Whitelegg continued to ride the Cagiva, but we also got to show off the new Vyrus in front of a full crowd as well as supply rides for 15 times world champion Giacomo Agostini, and MP Steve Ladyman. Steve is fighting for the road racing cause at the moment and we were happy to lend him a ride.
The team had so much fun we plan to return for 2009 with the upgraded Vyrus.
See Thundersprint for much much more.

Press News
Motorcycle News were impressed enough with the Vyrus' first win at the French round of the Thunderbike championship that they gave the event a double page feature.
With a readership of over 450,000 a week this should have hopefully got the point across that hub center steering bikes are now better in reality, not just theory.
This glowing writeup has since been followed by using Ben Shaughnessy and the Alto team as a voice of knowledge on Hub Center Steering designs.

Team News
After a successful year Phil Read is keen to continue to ride the Vyrus. Phil's consistent speed has allowed us to determine when the bikes development is moving forward. An invaluable aid in improving the bike.
New for 2008 was a specific hospitality tent complete with catering crew.
Our now steady and well known team (some 10 members now) with expertise in all areas will be on hand at all the meetings and shows we participate in. Please feel free to ask questions they are all very knowledgeable about the bikes we race.
For a complete list of team members see

Other News
In 2007 after an amazing 19 podium finishes including two back to back wins Phil Read finally got his just deserts and clinched 3rd place in the championship on the last lap of the last race.
In 2008 Phil rode to 3rd place again with 18 podiums and 3 wins , but this time on a prototype bike finished just days before the first round.

Alto racing and Phil Read made a parallel twin into a race winner, and a hub center steered bike into a race winner. Our next goal is the 2009 championship outright, and to get a hub center steered bike into the top flight of British racing.
However we will not forget the Laverda, and Alto racing would like to thank all our sponsors for the help they have shown along the way.
See Laverda - Racing for more.
